There could be some record lows set especially in the eastern part of the state Monday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop into the lower 40s across eastern Iowa, which will get very close if not break some records lows for the date. The one record that looks to be in jeopardy is Dubuque’s where the record low Monday morning is 42. The morning NWS forecast had a low of 40 for Monday morning. Outside of the near record lows, there is a decent chance of a few locations in EC and NE Iowa that might drop into the upper 30s. This is typical of readings seen in mid-October and not the end of August. A slow warming trend will begin Tuesday with highs rising into the 70s and lows closing in on 50. There is also a few slight chances of rain next week as well.
