HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND: Warmer temperatures will be moving back into the state albeit for only one day. This will be on Friday ahead of a storm system that will bring showers and thunderstorms late Friday night through the day on Saturday across the state. Today readings will be in the lower and middle 70s with plenty of sunshine around with a few clouds by the afternoon hours before the warm up on Friday. Sunday will start with an early shower in the far eastern counties with clearing skies and sunshine thereafter. Readings will be in the 70s across the state.
ONTO NEXT WEEK: Monday and Tuesday look to be partly to mostly sunny across the state with readings close to seasonal levels in the 70s. The winds will turn around to the south on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of a storm that will be approaching from the west. This should boost temperatures well into the 70s and even a few 80s could be possible as well.
ON TOWARD OCTOBER: The GFS shows a storm system is forecast to slowly move through the state from the 27th through the 29th of September with a threat of showers and a few thunderstorms possible. Otherwise the rest of the period looks mainly dry with seasonal readings possible. The GFS shows a tropical entity that may move inland on the Gulf Coast and move northward through the Ohio Valley. If this were to occur, the eastern counties may see some more clouds but the rain would be farther off to the east and southeast. Of course this may all change on upcoming model runs. It’s wait and see at this point.
