Here is one of the rivers in eastern Iowa that is in flood at this time. This is from the Wapsipinicion River at Anamosa (the guage is on Shaw Road SE of town). The river this afternoon between 3-4pm rose over 2.5 feet. It is expected to crest tomorrow morning at 20 feet and then fall quickly back below flood stage late Friday night or early Saturday morning. This is true of many of the rivers currently flooding across the state, quick rises followed by fairly quick falls. However, some rivers will fall more slowly than others and the flooding will likely continue through the weekend into the early part of next week.
