LOOKING OUT: No real changes in the forecast. Shower and thunderstorm chances will slacken as we head through the weekend. It will remain hot and humid with readings well into the upper 80s through the middle 90s. Heat indices will be close to or over 100. Showers and thunderstorms return late Sunday night through Wednesday with a slow moving frontal system. Some places could get decent rainfall amounts but it will be hit and miss on who gets the precipitation. The system will usher in drier and cooler air for the end of the week and into the first part of next weekend before winds turn back around to the south as warmer weather returns. Farther out into the extended period, the weather pattern looks to be more zonal as we head into the month of September with some systems quickly moving through. Timing these out this far in advance is difficult so we’ll just watch for any trends as we move along.
