The Rain that Won’t Stop

Rain, moderate to heavy at times continues across the eastern part of the state, where it has been raining almost non-stop for almost 36 hours. Numerous River Flood Warnings and Flash Flood Warnings have been issued. Rainfall since the beginning of this storm have been very impressive. Amounts over 5 inches has been common from Cedar Rapids and Marengo southward to Washington and Sigourney.

As of 1:50pm, radar showed that the heaviest rain was falling from Bellevue in Jackson County westward to Center Point in Linn County. Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for Jackson, Jones, Linn, Benton, Johnson, Iowa and Keokuk counties through this evening.
