Rain and More Rain

Rain continues across the southern 2/3rds of the state this afternoon. The rain has stayed mainly south of IA Hwy 3. One complex of rain is currently moving through the eastern part of the state while another complex is in the western part of the state. They are moving to the east around 25mph. Heavy rain is possible with these complexes. There has already been several locations that have recieved over 2 inches of rain, while others have had little or no rain to speak of. The chances of rain will increase later tonight with another wave moving along a stalled out front that is in the southern part of the state. The rain will mainly stay south of US Hwy 20 with a few showers possible to the north. More heavy rain is likely and a few flash flood warnings might be issued.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7pm Thursday for Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Washington counties.
