Showers and Isolated Storms

A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are currently moving through the state this evening. The main activity at 8:35pm is along a line extending from Dubuque to Vinton to Ames. It is moving to the east between 20-30mph. Some brief heavy rain is possible along with a few claps of thunder and strokes of lightning. Severe weather is not likely with this activity. More showers and thunderstorms will move into the state from Eastern Nebraska later this evening and effect the southern half of the state through sunrise tomorrow. The best chance of any rain and storms tomorrow will also be confined to areas south of Interstate 80.
