Severe Weather This Weekend

There is a slight risk of severe weather for mainly Saturday afternoon into Saturday night for areas in Iowa west of a line from Algona to Glenwood. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats with any storms that develop. Another threat is the possibility of heavy rainfall which could lead to localized flooding. On Sunday, the risk of severe weather moves to the eastern side of the state, with the eastern 3/4ths of the state under a slight risk of severe weather Sunday and Sunday night. The threats will remain the same as Saturday, with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats along with the chance of some heavy rainfall. As for the State Fair, (See Post on Saturday’s Weather Forecast below), the rain should hold out for most fairgoers Saturday until after sunset at the earliest. Sunday, the chance of rain and thunderstorms will be greatest through mid/late Afternoon.
