SOUTHERN O’BRIEN COUNTY IN NORTHWEST IOWA
WOODBURY COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL IOWA

* AT 943 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.
THUNDERSTORMS WHICH PRODUCED RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR
TO THE WEST IN NORTHEAST NEBRASKA AND AROUND SIOUX CITY WILL BE
MOVING ACROSS THE AREA…WITH ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED
TO DEVELOP FOR SEVERAL HOURS INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. SOME
RAINFALL RATES WITH INITIAL STORMS COULD REACH BRIEFLY 3 TO 4
INCHES PER HOUR…WHICH WILL QUICKLY OVERWHELM POORLY DRAINED
URBANIZED AREAS.
* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
