Isolated Severe Threat this Evening

414

A line of thunderstorms is expected to begin developing across Nebraska and South Dakota within the next one to two hours and trek southeast into southern Minnesota and northwest Iowa in the late afternoon. Supercells embedded with this line will be capable of large hail to the size of golf balls and damaging wind gusts to 60 MPH. The chance of tornadoes are low at this time, but can not be ruled out. There is some shear supporting tornadoes, but if any do develop they will likely be short-lived and very weak. Storms should begin weakening as they enter the state farther. In-state instability is very little and will not carry supercells for very long.
