The Storm Prediction has outlined parts of the state with a slight risk of severe weather for later tonight, Friday and Saturday. The slight risk today is for areas west of a line from Lamoni to Fort Dodge to Estherville. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. Friday, nearly the entire state (except extreme SW Iowa) is in a slight risk of severe weather. Damaging Winds will likely be the main threats with a possible MCS, large hail will be a secondary threat also. Saturday as the heat moves into the state, there is a slight risk of severe weather mainly from Interstate 80 on northward. Same threats will likely be occurring Saturday, with large hail and damaging winds. There could be isolated tornadoes as well Friday and Saturday. The heat turns up this weekend with highs well into the 90s and heat indices topping 100 in several locations.
