THE EASTER BUNNY GONNA BE WET: A cold front will have moved through the state early today bringing the temperatures back down into the 40s and lower to middle 50s across the state. There will be some clouds around with some clearing by the afternoon hours from west to east. A warm front comes through on Friday which may bring some sprinkles to the northern counties during the morning into the early afternoon hours. This shouldn’t amount to much. Readings will start to warm with some 60s possible in the southwestern half of the state. The weekend looks rather mixed at this point with readings on Saturday in the 60s and 70s. The next system will move in later on Saturday into Easter with a chance of some showers and thunderstorms at that time. Sunday will see readings in the 60s statewide with cloudy skies outside the rain activity that is expected.

NEXT WEEK WARMTH: Monday will see some early day showers in the eastern counties with bright sunshine for the rest of the day into Tuesday. Highs will climb back into the 60s and 70s across the state both days. The next system looks to bring another chance of showers and thunderstorms in two rounds, one on Wednesday and another on Thursday. We will have to watch to see if this could bring any severe weather to the area at that time.

HEADING INTO MAY: The weather pattern still looks somewhat active heading into the last days of April and the first days of May with a storm moving in during that time that could give us another crack at showers and thunderstorms. It’s way too early to determine any severe weather chances at this time, but we’ll watch for any further trends. Readings look to remain near seasonal levels through the period with some cooler weather in the wake of the storm system at the end of next week.
