Flooding

Storms Developing

Numerous thunderstorms have developed in the early evening hours along an outflow boundary. The strongest storms in Iowa extend from just east of Cedar Rapids to north of Clinton. They are moving east and slightly south of east at about 30mph. Very heavy rain, lightning and some gusty winds up to 35mph are possible with these storms. The rain gauge in Springville (where the blogger is) was 5.65in per hour. 0.28 inches of rain fell in about 6 minutes. Some Flash Flood Warnings could be issued in east central Iowa later this evening.
