* AT 727 PM CDT…TRAINED SPOTTERS AND DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH….AND GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM LA MOTTE TO JESUP…OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 11 MILES NORTH OF MAQUOKETA TO 11 MILES WEST OF INDEPENDENCE. THESE STORMS WERE NEARLY STATIONARY.

THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 380 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 50 AND 55.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS STORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
TORNADO-LIKE WINDS AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO WELL BUILT BUILDINGS. MOVE INDOORS TO A SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR INTERIOR ROOM OR HALLWAY.
THIS STORM HAS ALREADY PRODUCED WIND DAMAGE AND LARGE HAIL!…AND IT REMAINS A THREAT.
A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM CDT FRIDAY EVENING FOR EASTERN IOWA AND NORTHWESTERN ILLINOIS.
