A band of very heavy rain fell across the eastern part of the state today. Some areas recieved over 3 inches of rain. Asbury, a suburb of Dubuque had 3.10 inches of rain. Lowden had 3 inches, Anamosa had 2.80 inches, Springville got 2.54 inches. Cedar Rapids had anywhere between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain. Iowa City had about the same. Center Junction had 2.1 inches, West of Maquoketa a report of 3.1 inches of rain came in. On top of this, there were a few severe storms in Central Iowa earlier this evening near Fort Dodge. Also Moline IL, is on track to break a record low maximum for the date with a high of 68°, this would break the mark by 2 degrees if it holds up.
