Storm as it started approaching.
Today was a fairly active day across the area. There was 3 waves of storms that moved though, The day started off humid. the First wave of storms was a line of showers and embedded thunderstorms These storms produced some very frequent lightning which moved though early this morning. These storms moved northeast though parts of Polk, Barron, St Croix and Dunn counties. Then later in the afternoon another small line of storms moved though These had some heavy rain and some breezy winds. These storms were actually along a cold front which took the humid conditions away.

Then in the evening, another line of storms moved in from Minnesota This was actually a strong gust front which formed off a low pressure system. This storm surprised many people who were not expecting more storms. These storms moved quickly southeast at 55MPH, Which helped produce some gusty winds. At my house, It was totally calm before the storm hit, Even completely sunny. then Clouds quickly covered the sun, Then the front moved in The storm front on this storm was actually pretty define, It came with a quick burst of strong winds. then heavy rain, The trees were moving pretty good, It also blew our lawn chairs over. My wind anemometer reported a wind gust of 39MPH, but it may have definitely been a little higher, my anemometer is behind a bit of trees. so an active surprising day across the area.
