Cooler weather made it’s come back, chances for accumulating snow Friday

Weathermap for Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Cooler weather has made a come back! and now we have the chance for accumulating snowfall Friday, as much as 2 inches may accumulate in places in the north. I must say this is a hard forecast, I had much trouble in deciding what to go with but here it goes! The northwestern edge of a low pressure system will send preip north, Temps may be just warm enough for some rain in the South and Central areas in the morning, but it may just start off as all snow, possible Moderate at times in Burnett and Washburn counties, but as the morning goes on cooler air will be drawn in and it will change over to all Snow for the rest 6 county area. this will make for some accumulations.

Accumulations: Here is what I’m going with, In the South and Central areas, I believe accumulations will be 1 inch or less where it will start off as rain, this would include places south of a line from Luck to Rice Lake, but north of this line, for places like Siren, Webster, Spooner and Minong it may just remain an all snow event and this will likely make for some higher accumulations, I’m going with 1 to 2 inches for these areas. The snow will be a wet type of snow for everyone.

Snow will come to an end Friday Night, this will make the way for a dry Saturday with some peaks of sunshine, It will also be a bit warmer then Friday, I also believe a good part of Sunday will be dry before another system makes it’s way in our direction which will start to bring some preip chances, The forecast models are all over the place on this one so I’m going with rain/snow chance starting late Sunday, It’s just too early to tell on Accumulations, but it looks like only light accumulations at this time. Detailed forecast below.

Friday, preip starting as rain in south and Central areas, remaining Snow for places in the north, before changed to all snow across the area in the morning to early afternoon, Highs in the mid to upper 30s, Accumulations of wet snow, 1 inch or less South and Central areas, To as much as 1-2″ in the north. Snow could be on the heavier side at times. Friday Night, Snow or flurries early before ending, then cloudy skies lows in the low 30s.

Saturday, Cloudy to partly sunny, staying Dry, highs in the low to mid 40s, Saturday Night, Cloudy lows in the 30s.

Sunday, Cloudy to start of the day with chances of rain or snow in the late afternoon, highs in the upper 30s to low 40s Sunday Night a chance Rain or Snow, light accumulations possible lows in the mid 30s

Looking ahead. We are looking at a Active week ahead, The system that I talk about rain or snow chances Sunday will continue into Monday, One model says it will be light snow one says maybe enough warm air for rain, any priep that would fall should remain light, for now I am leaning on the chance for snow rather then rain.

Watching Middle of next week. The forecast models are picking up on a larger system which will start to effect us Tuesday & Wednesday, This one is one to watch because it has the chance to bring higher accumulating snows to our area, Right now the rain/snow line will be close so it’s way to early to tell, But stay tuned, because if enough cool air stays around it could mean significant snow accumulations to parts of our area.

Dirk over at Dirks forecasting center has already begun mentioning this storm, it will be one to keep an eye on through the week.
