The Storm Prediction Center has issued a new Severe Thunderstorm watch which is in effect until 9pm for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Cass, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren, Wayne, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery and Page. More thunderstorms are developing to the southwest of the state and will move in this afternoon. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. This could be similiar to this morning’s widespread wind damage that occurred from Ames to Dubuque.
