Winter Weather Advisory Issued in NW Iowa

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued beginning at Midnight and in effect until Noon Friday for the following counties in Iowa, Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Sioux, O’Brien and Clay.
The following is from the NWS Sioux Falls:
LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT INTO
FRIDAY. STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 25 TO 40 MPH LATE
TONIGHT AND PERSIST FRIDAY. THIS WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING
SNOW. TOTAL SNOW FALL THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON WILL BE IN THE
1 TO 3 INCH RANGE. ALSO…WITH THE EXPECTED COLDER TEMPERATURES
BY DAYBREAK…ROADS AND OTHER SURFACES WHICH WERE JUST WET DURING
THE EVENING MAY BECOME ICY.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT
VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND
BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING…ESPECIALLY IN OPEN
AREAS.

In Iowa, amounts should be an inch or less.
