All of Iowa

1am Radar Look

The rain shield hasn’t moved much over the last few hours, in fact it has moved north a few miles. The rain is now falling roughly south of a line from Sabula (the island city) in eastern Jackson County to Corydon in Wayne County. Anymore rain in SE will aggrevate already high water levels on area rivers. It will also prolong the flooding for several more days. The bulk of Ike’s moisture is still in Arkansas and southern Missouri. Most of that will move through Illinois and skirt Iowa. The flooding in the Chicago metro is reminiscent of the flooding that took place in Iowa earlier this summer. More heavy rain is expected in Chicago through tomorrow night as Ike moves through. SE Iowa should see another 1/2-3/4 of an inch before the rain finally ceases sometime Sunday afternoon.
