A batch of strong to severe thunderstorms is moving across the Mississippi River in SE Iowa into WC Illinois at this time. This is on the leading edge of the remnants of Dolly as it moves to south of the state. Another “band” of showers and embedded thunderstorms was situated along and just north of US Hwy 30 from Benton County (Vinton) westward to Carroll County (Carroll). These storms could produce brief heavy rain, small hail up to 1/2 inch and gusty winds to 50 mph and could become severe once again. There was a few severe thunderstorm warnings in Central Iowa from this batch of storms.
