All of Iowa

4pm Update

Showers are departing the extreme eastern part of the state at this time. No warnings are in effect in Iowa. A vigourous squall line is moving to the east of La Crosse Wisconsin with the storms tailing westward into southern Fillmore and Southern Houston Counties in Minnesota. The storms were just hugging the border with Iowa from New Albin to north of Burr Oak. These are slowly heading south and could produce heavy rain, small hail and gusty winds up to 40 mph. The main energy from these storms however is with the bow structure that’s heading east of La Crosse towards Tomah WI. Storms will likely develop westward from these storms across the northern part of Iowa later this afternoon and could become severe. Meanwhile skies remain Sunny to partly Sunny with temps in the mid 80s to lower 90s, outside places that have been rain cooled where temps are in the 70s. Heat indices are approaching 100 in a few locations.
