The new Tornado Warning List is out. Only 55 Tornado Warnings were issued this past week. Over 3200 Tornado Warnings have been issued so far in the United States, that’s more than any of the past 3 years. The Weather Office that has issued the most Tornado warnings so far this year is Springfield MO (163). Their CWA (County Warning Area) was especially hit hard during the outbreak in January and again on the Super Tuesday Outbreak in February.
In Iowa Des Moines leads all NWS Offices that serve Iowa Counties having issued 110 Tornado Warnings (ranking 5th Overall), followed by Omaha at 61 (ranked 17th), Sioux Falls at 43 (ranked 28th), Quad Cities at 33 (ranked tied for 36th) and La Crosse at 26 (ranked tied for 46th).
