I have tabulated all of the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings that have been issued throughout the country.  This week alone there were 2294 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued by the NWS offices across the country. This brings the total amount of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued to 17,102 for the year. You might think that’s a lot of warnings but last year there were 21,132 issued. I have made a map showing what parts of the country have issued the most warnings.

For the NWS Offices that issue warnings for Iowa

Des Moines has issued 365 for the year (Ranked 9th Overall out of 120 NWS Offices (discounting San Juan and Guam)
Omaha has issued 315 (ranked 13th)
Quad Cities has issued 186 (ranked 37th)
Sioux Falls has issued 177 (ranked 38th)
La Crosse has issued 88 (ranked 75th)

The NWS office in Norman Oklahoma has issued the most Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for the year so far with 758 issued so far.
