Storm Update

NWS Des Moines issued a short term forecast on the storms in the east, stating that they could produce heavy rain, small hail and gusty winds to 40 mph through 4am in Tama, Poweshiek and Mahaska Counties. The storms are now located along a line extending from south of Tama to Barnes City and then eastward to South English where the line splits into two, one line heading east toward Washington, the other southward to Packwood and into Fairfield. These storms are moving E and slightly NE at about 20.

Also A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued until 3:45 AM for North Central Lyon County in NW Iowa. The storm will be near Steen (which is in Minnesota) by 3:40am. That storm forms a line of thunderstorms from Jackson MN to Sibley to LeMars to Sioux City.
