MCS Moving In

An MCS (Mesoscale Convective System) is beginning to move into the state early this morning. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued in eastern Nebraska, and several warnings continue in central Nebraska. Severe weather is not antcipated with this MCS, but some moderate rain will be possible as it moves through the state through the early morning hours. This should move out of the state or dissipate later this morning, toward midday, before inititation of new storms begins the whole process again later this afternoon into this evening.

On a related note, this MCS had beginnings in eastern Wyoming where the VORTEX2 project captured a tornado in Goshen County Wyoming on Friday afternoon.
