A number of showers and thunderstorms have begun to develop as the sun has set across the state. The strongest storms right now seem to be in Carroll, Greene and Crawford Counties in western Iowa, just south of US Hwy 30. There is also some thunderstorms in Fremont and Page Counties in SW Iowa. These were severe a few hours ago, but haven’t been producing much more than some localized heavy rain and possibly some pea sized hail in some spots. A complex of thunderstorms (in a weakening stage) are currently moving into northwest Iowa. These storms had numerous Severe Thunderstorm warnings with them in South Dakota, but have since weakened to below severe weather limits. These are generally moving to the ESE and will effect areas mainly in the northern two tiers of counties over the next few hours. Severe Weather from this complex is not expected.
