DOWNHILL FROM HERE: Enjoy the spring like readings today because we may not see them for quite a while. There will be some chance of rain across the northern counties of the state that will keep the temperatures there down into the lower and middle 40s. Everywhere else, some peeks of sun are possible with readings well into the 50s and perhaps touching 60 in a few locations near the Missouri border. There will be some rain snow mix across the north tonight that will slowly sweep across the state Wednesday as readings will hit the highs of the day before Noon before crashing into the teens to lower 20s by Thursday morning. Another wave to our south may scrape the far southeastern counties of the state (Lee, Davis, Henry and Des Moines counties) with some light snow or flurries on Thursday night but this should amount to a whole lot. Readings will be stuck in the teens to near 20 for highs through the weekend with lows down in the single digits above and below zero. (If we had snow on the ground, we’d be looking at readings in the teens to maybe near 20 below zero)

WEEKEND THROUGH MID MONTH: Another wave off to our south and southeast may graze the state late Sunday night into Monday with some light snow at that time. Another system around the 12th through the 14th could bring more snow to the state, then the GFS shows moderating temperatures in which we may see highs back above freezing once again, but this would dependent on how much snow we have on the ground that will squelch any warming.
