NOVEMBER HEAT WAVE: It may feel like a heat wave after a few cold days, temperatures today and Saturday will be warmer than the previous few days. Highs today will be in the 30s across the state. Saturday will see a boost in readings with 40s common in most of the state except the north where upper 30s will be found. A dry front will come through late on Saturday which will drop readings back into the 30s across the state with perhaps a few low 40s in the south and west on Sunday.

NEXT SYSTEM: A warm front looks to move through the state Monday morning that may trigger and rain or snow shower across the northern counties of the state. Tuesday at this point looks dry with more clouds across the north than the south. Temperatures will be in the 30s and lower 40s on Tuesday. Some light rain is possible Wednesday across the state although the far northern and northwestern counties may see some wintry mix possible. The GFS is drier with this run as the system quickly moves off to the east by early on Thursday with skies beginning to clear at that time. Another system off to our south may bring more snow late next Friday into the following weekend with much colder air following in its wake.

COLD DECEMBER: It looks fairly cold through the extended period with some warming toward the middle of the month followed by another shot of arctic weather with some snow. Of course this may change several times in the next couple of days so we’ll continue to monitor.
