All of Iowa, Severe Weather

Slight Risk Friday

There is a slight risk of Severe Weather for parts of southeastern Iowa. This is south of a line from the Quad Cities to Lamoni. Large Hail, Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible in the slight risk area. The better chances will be further south into Missouri and southwestward from there into Oklahoma, similiar to the area on Wednesday. Thunderstorms have developed early this morning across the state. These will move out shortly after sunrise this morning. A new round should develop sometime this afternoon. This will be the best time for any severe weather to occur (if it does occur). Heavy rain will be likely with any thunderstorms, (severe or not) across the southern half of the state. Flash Flood Watches have been issued and will go into effect later this morning.
