All of Iowa

Slight Risk For Tuesday

The first outlook for severe weather today has just come out. There is now a slight risk of severe weather for today and tonight (mainly for Tuesday evening and night) for most of Iowa except the far eastern and northeastern parts of the state. The main threats from these storms will likely be large hail with a secondary threat of strong gusty winds. The storms will develop first to the west of the state in the afternoon hours and slowly move into the state. The main window for any severe weather will be after sunset later this evening. There is still a slight risk for severe weather on Wednesday as well for the eastern half of the state. There is also still a moderate risk of severe weather for Wednesday to the SE of the state, however since Monday the MDT risk has moved closer to the Mississippi River. The main threat area exists from Rolla MO to St Louis to Springfield IL on Wednesday.
