GETTING WET: There will be a lot of sunshine today with a few clouds here and there. Highs today will range from the middle to upper 50s north and east to the middle to upper 60s south and west. A few more clouds will dot the landscape on Monday as a high pressure tries to settle into the area from the northwest. This will drop the readings down into the 40s north to 50s south. The next system will come in late Monday night and especially into Tuesday from west to east. There could be some rain entering the state during the overnight hours Monday into Tuesday across the state. With some cold air in place, some of the precipitation could be in the form of snow across the Iowa Minnesota Border area with a mix as far south as US Hwy 20. Rain will be found to the south of that. The models have been trending a bit slower so there may be a chance that the precipitation may not come in now until after dawn Tuesday morning, but we did insert the precipitation for our Monday night graphics. Tuesday will see mainly rain across the state as temperatures will warm into the 50s. The rain looks to be a bit heavier on Wednesday as the storm treks across the state. There is a chance of possibly seeing some thunderstorms as well on Wednesday as the front moves through. The chances of seeing any of the storms becoming severe looks rather small at this time, but some of the indications are there so we’ll have to keep our eyes out. Thursday looks to be rather drizzly with some backwash clouds and showers around with readings dropping back into the 40s to near 50.

INTO THE WEEKEND AND NOVEMBER: A weak disturbance on Friday night may bring a snow flurry or sprinkle but nothing of any significance. Temperatures will be cool on Saturday with readings beginning to warm next Sunday as the wind comes out of the southwest. Heading into the extended period, the southwest winds continue until a storm blows in around the 5th which will bring down cool air once again. More storms forecast according to this run on the 8th through early on the 10th and then again by late on Veterans Day as well. A fairly active pattern but most if not all the precipitation looks to be in the form of rain. We’ll see if it stays that way.
