SUNFILLED WEEKEND: It will be cooler today with a front having passed the state earlier in the day. Winds will be gusty out of the northwest at about 10-20mph. This will also keep the temperatures down in the 40s to lower 50s today under mainly sunny skies with a few clouds here and there. Winds will veer around to the southwest on Sunday and that will boost the readings back into the 50s to near 60 across the area.
STORMY WEEK: The next storm will come in two pieces next week with still a little uncertainty involved. The GFS has the first piece arriving late Monday night in the western counties of the state with Tuesday morning being the arrival time for most everyone else. Rain will be scattered on Tuesday across the state with amounts being somewhat light. The heavier rains look to come by Wednesday morning with the second and more vigorous piece of energy. This will continue through the day on Thursday with skies slowly beginning to clear late in the day Thursday into Friday. However, some models have the system lingering around into Friday (Specifically the Euro). So we can’t really rule out the possible chances of lingering rain into Friday at this time. Nevertheless cooler air will filter back into the state for next weekend, the first weekend of November.
NOVEMBER SWINGS: Temperatures look to moderate on Sunday (3rd) and Monday (4th) ahead of another storm system that will swing through around Tuesday (5th) into early on Wednesday. There could be some snow as it ends Tuesday night into Wednesday morning but nothing of significance at this time. Another storm around the 8th and 9th could bring some rain ending with snow. Readings will remain near seasonal levels with several colder periods followed by moderation.
