WARMING OCTOBER: Temperatures will continue to slowly moderate into the 70s to near 80s the rest of the week ahead of another system that could bring some rain activity to the state Friday into Saturday. It looks to be quite breezy as well with winds gusting over 25mph at times out of the south and southwest. There will be plenty of sunshine as well with a few more clouds by Thursday with the approaching storm out of the west. The main energy with this system will be shunted northeastward into Canada, so the cold front will likely come through Friday into Saturday with very little moisture, however there is still a decent enough chance to get some rain showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm to form along the front at that time.
LOOKING FORTH: Another disturbance looks to move through the state Tuesday of next week with some more rain showers at that time. Colder air will filter in behind that system with readings dropping into the 40s and 50s for highs early next week. A quick recovery followed by a weak disturbance on the 18th, will keep the cooler than average temperatures around. Another modest rebound of readings before another system moves into the area toward the end of the extended period. The first polar high looks to make an appearance across Canada aiming straight for us at the end of the period. This would possibly bring us our first real blast of much colder weather in about 16-18 days or so, but this is still way out there and things are likely to change significantly as they always do that far out.
