LOTS OF RAIN: The next several days will see several rounds of showers and thunderstorms with first a warm front then a cold front that will move through the state. Today will be the warm front with some chances of showers and thunderstorms. Readings today will be in the 60s north to lower 70s south. The warm front moves through during the overnight hours into Wednesday and readings will be much warmer then with temperatures well into the 80s with still an isolated chance of a shower or storm. As the cold front approaches on Thursday there will be another chance to see some scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could become strong but severe weather has been determined in a widespread scale as yet but we’ll have to wait on that. Readings will be the same Thursday as well with mainly 80s. The front moves through during the overnight hours into the first half of Friday with some lingering rain showers mainly along and east of Interstate 35 during the morning into the early afternoon hours with slow clearing thereafter as readings drop back to seasonal levels.

WEEKEND FUN: The weekend looks fantastic with mainly sunny skies and seasonal readings as high pressure will be in control, although the winds will begin veering back around to the south late on Sunday especially in the western half of the state as another storm begins to take shape to our west by that time.

INTO NEXT WEEK: A storm will clip the state early in the week on Monday that could bring an ever so slight chance of some showers and storms over the western counties of the state but the main energy looks well to our north. A ridge to our east will keep a trough to our west from advancing in our direction. This looks to keep the winds southerly, temperatures above seasonal levels and any rain mainly off to our west until the middle to end of next week when a storm gets close enough that it will move through the state Thursday and Friday. Looking farther out the pattern does calm down a bit before another possible storm greets the state around the 1st and 2nd of October.
