NO CHANGES: No real big changes from yesterday with the continued warming of temperatures and mainly dry conditions. A frontal system will sag into the state late Friday night that may bring some chances of showers and thunderstorms, albeit slight as best. The front looks to stick around through Sunday before lifting back north as a warm front, with periodic rain mainly at night across the area. The GFS has been consistent with this idea for several runs and days now. The GEM model also has mentioned the chances of rain this weekend mainly over the northern counties of the state. There is still some disagreement on whether any rain may form at all and thus confidence isn’t as high as those who need and want the rain want it to be. Another wait and see.

INTO NEXT WEEK: A cold front is still on track according to the GFS to come through the state late Tuesday night through Wednesday with another chance of seeing some rain as well. Again as before, it’s a wait and see on this one as well. With newly formed Tropical Storm Gabrielle in the Atlantic which is forecast to recurve into the Atlantic this may slow the progress of systems across the country. With this in mind, this isn’t set in stone yet. It will remain warm with readings in the 80s and lower 90s to start the week but the humidity levels will be lower from a week ago.

FARTHER OUT: The GFS looks dry during the extended period with most of the storm systems missing the area. Temperatures look to be near seasonal levels, but we’ve seen wild swings of late during this time frame so nothing is really set in stone either and confidence is low at this time as well.
