COOLER TIME: Much cooler but unfortunately for those that didn’t get any rain from the last storm system, another mainly dry week ahead as well. Readings will be in the 70s and lower 80s today slowly warming through the week as a ridge begins to build off to our west. Lows tonight will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s which too will gradually warm into the mid 50s to lower to mid 60s. There is the slightest chance of a shower or storm late Tuesday night and Wednesday over the far western counties but that looks to be it for rain chances this week.

POSSIBLE WET WEEKEND: The first weekend of Meteorological Fall looks to be rather unsettled with the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms moving into the state once again. The GFS is showing a surge of Canadian air spilling into the Great Lakes and New England by the weekend and this will drag a cold front down into the state from the north. We would be on the western periphery of this surge of cool air but it looks to be enough for some showers and storms to possibly develop late Saturday night into Sunday across the area. Amounts look to be light and scattered similar to this last storm system which could mean some areas could get left out of the rain chances yet again. We’ll have a better grasp on this in the days to come. Hopefully more rain for more areas will be on the cards.

CRUISING ALONG: Heading into the extended period, the storm around next weekend sticks around through the early part of the following week Monday (9th) and Tuesday (10th) with some shower and storm activity (let’s hope so). It looks somewhat dry again through the middle of the month with near seasonal readings across the areas with most of the rain chances staying to our south and east at this point.
