IT’S STILL HOT: More hot weather in store with some relief coming during the Labor Day Weekend with a cold front moving through the state with some showers and thunderstorms at that time (see our experimental video forecast farther down the blog for possible timing) Until then, we’ll see temperatures in the 90s, perhaps a century mark of two across the area. Heat indices will be over 100 in many areas thus the heat advisory and excessive heat warnings remain in effect at least through Friday.

COOLER NEXT WEEK: Labor Day into the new week will feature much cooler and more seasonal conditions for the early part of September with highs back into the 80s with lower humidity. It will feel a lot better to be able to open the windows again at night with lows back into the 50s to lower 60s as well. It does look to warm up again toward the end of next week back into the mid to upper 80s for highs before another storm looks to make an appearance the following weekend with some showers and thunderstorms at that time.

FARTHER OUT: The GFS shows some quick moving systems with some bouts of cooler air involved through the middle of September. This would be a more refreshing change than the hot dry sticky weather we’ve been seeing over the last few days and weeks. We’ll see if this comes to pass or something totally different pops up on the next model runs.
