There is a slight risk of severe weather for today and tonight (mainly this afternoon into this evening) for most of Iowa except the areas of the Loess Hills in western Iowa. Large hail seems to be the main threat from these storms with damaging winds as a secondary threat. The main time frame of these thunderstorms will likely occur from mid-afternoon through early evening around sunset.
