VIDEOS HAVE RETURNED AFTER A 3 WEEK FORCED HIATUS

THE WEEK AHEAD: Continued dry weather for a few days before a frontal system makes a run at the state late Wednesday night into Thursday. There could be some scattered shower and thunderstorm activity with that system but we’ll have to wait and see. The front will be nearby through the end of the week so more chances of showers and storms are possible again on Friday before the following weekend looks dry again. Remember the comfortable temperatures during State Fair and how abnormal it felt with little humidity, well you can kiss that goodbye because now that school has or will be starting throughout the state, warmer temperatures and humidity will be returning. Highs will be in the 80s to lower 90s with heat indices likely only getting as high as the mid 90s due to the lack of ground moisture with the dry weather the state has been having over the last few weeks. Any rain later in the week will help cool readings down but bring more humidity into the air as well.

EXTENDING INTO SEPTEMBER: The extended period shows a large 588 ridge over most of the country keeping the main storm track well to our north. This will keep any rain activity far away from the state and also keep temperatures above average with readings likely in the 80s to near 90 through at least the Labor Day weekend. We’ll see if any changes are in the offing but it doesn’t look like it at this time.
