VIDEOS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED TO RESUME MONDAY BARRING ANY UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES

BORING WEATHER: The weather can be very repetitive or boring when you get a pattern like what is setting up across the area over the next week. A high pressure ridge overhead and plenty of sunshine and slowly rising temperatures. An upper level disturbance will move to the south of the state this weekend but will bring little if any change to the weather pattern except perhaps bring a few more clouds Sunday but any rainfall will be well off to our south and far to our northwest. Highs this weekend will be in the 80s to near 90 with slightly increased humidity over the last few days.

NO CHANGES: Heading into next week doesn’t seem much difference from this weekend with sunshine and warm weather with highs well into the 80s and 90s across the state but the humidity will be much more noticeable early next week which may bring heat indices well into the 90s perhaps approaching 100 in some areas. Heat Advisories may be issued but it’ll depend on how high the dew points get and other factors as well. The only break looks to come late in the week as the ridge begins to break down with a cold front that will be sagging into the state from the north. It will be a slow mover if the model run is correct which may linger some shower and storm activity from late Thursday through Saturday of next weekend. This would be welcome rain by that time as even now some of the ground is really starting to get dry and topsoil moisture may likely be nearing short or very short levels in many areas.

EXTENDED PERIOD: Farther out the westerlies stay over the state for a few days as a ridge develops off to our west over the northern Rockies and Plains States. This will slowly makes its way toward the state in about two weeks time which may bring some more dry weather that may last into the first few days of August. All and all a dry pattern this summer looks to continue if this model run pans out, a sort of antithesis of what our Spring was like across the state. May have to watch for any drought concerns in the next two weeks
