MORE SEVERE POSSIBLE: We don’t get a break for very long with another system already on the doorsteps today with the chance of some showers and thunderstorms possible both today and again on Saturday. Some of the storms could be strong to severe with the main threats being from large hail and damaging winds. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out either but it looks minimal at this time. The rain chances continue even into Sunday and Monday but they will be hit or miss and some areas may even get a peak of sunshine in as well. Readings during this period will be in the 70s and 80s with lows in the 60s.

DRIER COOLER: It will turn a bit cooler into next week, especially Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure will move in. This will bring temperatures down into the 70s to around 80 but the humidity will be noticeably lower as well if this was to be correct. Of course it doesn’t last long as the next system looks to move back in late Thursday into Friday of next week with more chances of showers and thunderstorms.

BATTLE ZONE: The GFS is showing several cool periods along with several active periods in the extended. It also shows a possible heat ridge building toward the state in about two weeks time which would not only shut off most of the active weather we’ve been seeing over the last few weeks but it would warm us up well into the 90s possibly. We’ll have to continue to watch this trend to see if this was continue. Until that point it looks as if the cool dry air and the warm moist air will be doing battle over the area which would mean several chances of showers and thunderstorms if this was to be correct.
