Severe Weather Threats Next Few Days

The latest outlooks are out early this morning for Friday-Sunday. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined slight risks all 3 days for portions of Iowa. Today (Friday) the slight risk is for all of Iowa except the NW and southeastern portions of the state. The main threats today will likely be large hail and damaging winds, tornadoes are possible but not likely. Saturday the slight risk shifts to SE Iowa mainly southeast of a Bloomfield to Clinton line. Main threats on Saturday will be large hail and damaging winds. Sunday, the slight risk involves almost the entire state of Iowa. The risks those days will be large hail and damaging winds, however Sunday’s risk is conditional as there is some discreptancy on the models. Sunday’s risk will be more set in stone tomorrow. This would be a good time to make sure you have your weather radio on standby. Today will be the first summerlike day of the year.
