Snow mixed with sleet continues to fall mainly along a line extending from Dubuque to Cedar Rapids to Williamsburg. Northwest of that line, the precipitation is all snow while to the southeast, it’s a mix of rain and sleet. Snow accumulations have been heavy in some localized areas. The highest accumulations are in a 20 mile wide band from Boone and Ames to Waterloo where Thundersnow was reported earlier. Conrad, just north of Marshalltown has reported 10 inches of snow. Jewell has reported 8 inches. A longer list of accumulations will be forthcoming this evening as more reports come in. Snow is beginning to wind down in the western part of the state, with some partial clearing taking place.
