The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Winter Storm Warning beginning at 4am Sunday morning and expiring at 7am Monday morning for the following counties, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones and Jackson. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities and Des Moines has also issued a Winter Weather Advisory that begins at 7am Sunday morning and expires at 7am Monday morning for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Cass, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Polk, Poweshiek, Union, Warren, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk and Washington. The National Weather Service in Des Moines has also extended a Winter Storm Warning to include Story, Marshall and Tama counties that begins at 1am Sunday morning and expires at 7pm Sunday evening. Rain is moving into the state. A few thunderstorms are possible in SW Iowa later this afternoon and this evening. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect in SE Nebraska. Hail would be the main threat if storms were to become severe.
