MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: The next two days, Thursday and Friday will be filled with sunshine with a few passing clouds. Highs will be below seasonal averages for this time of year with 60s to lower 70s possible. The next storm system approaches from the west and stalls over the state through the Holiday weekend into the following week. This would bring repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms across the state. Some of these storms could contain some severe weather but it’s too early to determine the kind and severity at this time, we’ll just have to keep an eye on it. This will not be an all day rain either with several hours of dry time each day. Readings will be in the upper 60s through the 70s through this time period with some areas cracking the 80s if enough sunshine peaks out. This system looks to continue at least through Thursday but we’ll have to keep watching for any subtle changes that may bring the precipitation to an end quicker.
JUNE: The GFS continues to show several storm systems effecting the state and region with showers and thunderstorms. Any of these storm systems could bring severe weather along with heavy rainfall as well. Flooding could become a concern if this was to pan out. While this could completely change on the next run we’ll need to keep watch for any continued trends regarding continued rain activity across the area over the next two weeks or so.
