MID WEEK WET: Today will see the upper level system move over the state bringing with it some scattered showers to the area. It won’t be a heavy rain by any means with no one area getting more than a tenth or two of rain. Temperatures will be held down into the 60s to near 70 across the state today with the cloud cover that will be overhead.

FEW DRY DAYS: Thursday and Friday will be spectacular across the state with sunshine and temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s. There will be some increased cloudiness Friday as the next system does begin to approach from the west.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: This coming weekend doesn’t look to be the best with regards to doing anything outdoors. There will be several rounds of showers and thunderstorms throughout the holiday weekend (Saturday through Monday) with a slow moving storm system moving through the area. This will not be an all day rain by any means as there will be some dry hours intermixed during the day. Rainfall from this system could be at least an inch perhaps more with any areas that get repeated thunderstorms. There could be a threat of severe weather but it’s too early to determine that at this time given differences with other models. We’ll have to wait and get a better look at that in the coming days. Rain may continue into Tuesday and Wednesday with the system still across the Plains.

INTO JUNE: A ridge looks to set up across the Gulf Coast with a trough over the west. This would bring some warmer air into the state along with the chances for some showers and thunderstorms as well. This may change in future runs however.
