MORE PRECIPITATION: Another round of precipitation moves into the state today and is expected to last through the morning hours of Tuesday. Whereas it won’t be as heavy as the last storm, any rainfall right now especially in areas where rivers are high or are still in flood will be prolonged further with any rainfall that does come. Rainfall will be scattered across the state today with temperatures much warmer than we saw on Saturday with readings well into the 50s and lower 60s. Rain continues tonight with perhaps some embedded thunderstorms as well. Lows tonight will stay mainly in the 40s with a few upper 30s far north. Another wave of rain and possible thunderstorms moves in Monday into Monday night as a cold front sweeps across the state. As the cold air filters in, the precipitation could changeover to a wintry mix or some light snow before ending on Tuesday. Any accumulations are expected to be light and mainly on grassy areas over the northern and northwestern counties of the state. Highs Monday will range wildly from near 40 far northwest to the mid 60s SE.

WARMING REBOUND: A weak disturbance Wednesday night could kick off a few showers or perhaps a wintry mix but shouldn’t amount to a whole lot. Temperatures do start to rebound heading into the end of the week, back into the 50s to lower 60s by the end of the week, but moisture looks to return as well with possible scattered showers returning by Friday at the earliest as another system begins to approach from the west by next weekend which could be an active system if the models pan out.

INTO VOODOO: Looking past next weekend, the pattern and the temperatures look to be more seasonal than what we’ve been having as of late. A few systems here and there but no big cold snaps which would indicate the last frost and freeze could be within reach. GFS is showing an interesting system around the 4th-6th of May that would need to be watched IF it continues on future model runs (which is doubtful at this point)
