Above is a map of lightning strikes that have taken place between Noon and 2pm. Most of the lightning has been concentrated on the midwest including Iowa. Some of the thunderstorms have produced sleet and even some heavy snow in Minnesota. This is very similiar to a complex of thunderstorms usually seen in late spring or early summer.
