Rain is changing to snow in the eastern part of the state. Cedar Rapids and Dubuque were reporting light snow at 6am. A few thunderstorms moved across Lee County about an hour ago. Most of the moisture has moved into Wisconsin and Illinois, so any accumulations of snow will be minimal. A few hundredths of an inch of rain is about all that will fall in areas that are still seeing the rain. The big factor now is the strong NW winds which are already gusting over 30mph in the western part of the state at this hour. This will continue all day today into tonight when they will begin to subside. Temperatures will begin to slowly fall at dawn and be in the teens and lower 20s by sunset this evening.
